As a member of the Long Island High Technology Incubator, the company has access to many of the university facilities, including machine and electrical shops, high-speed computer systems, mechanical design and fabrication and research libraries.  Since the company began doing research and development in 1998, BTG has successfully completed 8 Phase I and 4 Phase II SBIRs for DoD and DOE, and one DARPA/AFSOR project on Isomer Production.  Topics include negative ion source technology, pulsed power technology, nuclear reactor design, and hyperspectral imaging.  Recently, BTG completed an Army Research Laboratory research project, designing, evaluating a prototype superconducting magnetic energy storage system.
